RiverBrooke Farm 530 692-9006
RiverBrooke Farm was created in 2003 by a couple of city slickers ready to bail from suburbia. We started with a small vineyard and a small Arbequina olive grove. After a year or two of experience, we discovered that the Mediterranean climate in Oregon House is perfect for growing drought tolerant culinary lavenders such as Grosso and Provence. We currently cultivate over 300 plants and increase the number each year. Sweet and savory, the delicate scent of lavender enlivens food dishes with its fresh, enticing flavor. Lavender can be used in everything from drinks, appetizers, side dishes, main courses and desserts. Our specialties include lavender tea cookies, lavender-orange candied pecans, lavender ice cream, lavender lemonade, and lavender spice rub.
In the summer of 2008, we became vendors at the nascent Brownsville Farmers Market. This was the only outlet in North Yuba County for fresh, healthfully-grown, local food. Fascinated with the idea of providing local food and encouraged by the local community, we accepted management responsibility in 2009. Now, we are proud to collect 16 to 20 vendors each Saturday to offer the finest food in all of Yuba County to our customers and supporters. The market is now the largest Certified Farmers Market in Yuba County.
